came in through my Tumblr. “Can you tell us what happens when
the Naras find out that Harry helped find shikaku’s little brother
??”

“Who found him?”
Daen asked, as he rubbed his infant daughter's back, making sure she
stayed asleep on his shoulder.
Maen sipped on his tea, “You know the
green-eyed teen who keeps visiting Shikaku?”
“Suzaku said that boy's a civilian,”
Daen pointed out. “And he's related to Naruto.”
Maen hummed and said, “He might be a
civilian but he found the body in Suna.”
“Suna? Why would he be in that
hellhole? We never searched anywhere near Suna.”
“Even if we searched Suna, we
wouldn't have found him.” When Daen motioned for him to keep
talking, Maen lowered his voice to a whisper and said, “Think about
it. That boy fixes things. He must have fixed something to find the
body. And what does Suna have that needs to be fixed due to recent
events?”
It took an embarrassingly long moment
for Daen to comb put the clues together, even with Maen spelling
things out. The lack of sleep between taking care of his daughter and
struggling with his own research made him much slower than usual.
“Shit. Sasori's Puppets?”
“It must be,” Maen said, looking at
the deer in the distance.
“Shikaku must be...” Daen shook his
head and tightened his hold on his daughter. “Shit. All three of
them must be miserable. Shit!”
“Nii-san!” Maen hissed in warning.
“You'll wake Mira and then she'll wake the entire village,” he
said, making a motion at his sleeping niece in Daen's hands.
Daen huffed. “You're right. She's got
a strong pair of lungs in her.”
They sat in silence for a long time
until Maen said, “Shikaku's been giving that teen consistent
business from the clan, by collecting all our broken lab equipment.”
“That's all part of the surveillance
on him, though?” Daen asked. “He might be related to Naruto but
he's an unknown.”
“You think having the boy over to
play shogi is all surveillance?”
Daen shrugged. “Shikaku doesn't think
like we do. Who knows what goes through his head.”
“I wonder what's going through his
head now. That boy has done the impossible by finding...” Maen
sighed, unable to say the name out loud. “There's no way to pay
back such a debt.”
“We can try,” Daen said. “The
clan definitely owes him.”

I spent way too much time trying to make a proper Nara Clan family tree from the few canon Nara named.
Ended up adding to my personal headcanons of the Nara, which is dangerous because it might mean more screentime for the Nara as a whole (and they already have a lot of screentime in AtO through Shikaku and Shikamaru)
