Super late due to the
hazards of Christmas prep. After some epic bad luck, I got a cut
right across my finger pads and had to use band-aids which made
everything- including typing- very clunky and rage inducing.
Typing still isn't as fast
as I would like, but at least I don't have to backspace every other
letter now. I'll try to finish and upload my remaining Advent Calendar posts today in between today's Christmas movie marathon.
This post will be two prompts that I
got from the ask box.

“Harry and Itachi with some angsty interactions. Or just any interactions between them. Doesn't matter what kind.”
A small boy with a wide smile and
trusting eyes ran forward. “Itachi nii-san, can you train with me
today?”
Itachi, a much younger version of him,
looked at the boy with a gentle and fond look. “Did you finish your
homework, Sasuke?”
“He did not,” a woman, who looked
similar to both boys, called out as she peeked out. Her bright eyes
belied the severity of her stern expression.
“Kaa-san!” Sasuke pouted with
betrayal.
“Stop,” a voice called out.
Harry turned away from the family scene
playing out in front of him. “Ah, you finally showed up.”
Itachi, the worn and tired looking
Itachi that Harry was used to, stood with a pained and confused
expression. “How are you doing this?”
Harry shrugged. “I didn't do anything
to come into your memories. So I'm just as confused as you are.” He
turned back to the family, unable to ignore them. “You looked
happy.”
“I was,” Itachi said after a long
moment. He walked forward and crouched beside the memory of his
younger brother.
The Itachi from the memory seemed to be
on the verge of smiling at something that Sasuke had said.
“I'm sorry,” Harry said, unsure
what he was apologizing for.
Itachi's hand twitched up as though he
wanted to touch Sasuke's grinning face. “Me too.”
“Harry beats Shikaku at Shogi”
Tired and eager to end the game, Harry
moved a random piece from his side forward with a desperate clack on
the board.
On the other side of him Shikaku took a
deep breath, stared at the board for a long moment and then leaned
back.
Shikamaru who had been sitting quietly
the entire time had wide eyes of disbelief. He broke the sudden and
heavy silence that had fallen over them. “Dad.”
Shikaku shushed him, “Go.”
“But...”
“You know what needs to be done.”
Shikaku said with a solemn look, not looking away from the board.
Shikamaru bit back whatever he was
going to say, scrambled to his feet and walked away into the clan
compound with hurried steps.
For the first time since he had entered
the Nara property, Harry felt a strange sense of foreboding.
Within moments, Nara trickled over to
them and eventually there was a crowd surrounding them, with everyone
assessing the shogi board in silence.
The crowd parted to allow an old lady
and Shikamaru to come stop by the shogi board.
Stunned by the strange turn of events,
Harry could only watch with growing trepidation.
“So it's true,” the old woman said
after a long moment. “You've been defeated, Shikaku.”
“I have,” Shikaku said.
Harry tried not to wilt at the
absurdity of the situation. He had won? And all of these dramatics
was because he had won? And Shikaku had the nerve to call him
dramatic before? It seemed like the entire Nara clan beat him on the dramatics front.
“And do you all see this?” The lady said.
There was a general murmur of agreement
through the crowd.
The old lady nodded, “Then according
to the laws of our ancestors who founded the clan, let it be known
that Shikaku has lost his position and we have gained a new clan
head.”
Harry twitched, “What?”

Nara Harii, clan head, has a nice ring
to it.
See you in a few hours with my next
post, hopefully.
