This is the last post for today and for the Advent Calendar.
Jen asked for the deaged story to be finished. And I have to be honest, I don't remember a good chunk of what I had planned for this story. I mean I do have bit and pieces plus my haphazard notes, so I might eventually cobble up something coherent.

But for today, you'll have to settle
for a super short filler chapter of this series.

Pushed into wakefulness by the sound of
delighted laughter, Harry sat up in confusion. The bed beside him was
empty and cold to the touch.
After another bout of laughter reached
his ears, Harry got off the bed and followed the sounds until he
reached Sai's half opened room door.
Peeking in from the side, Harry
couldn't help but smile at the sight inside the room.
Seated in a veritable forest of ink
drawings brought to life, Naruto was holding an ink bird close to his
chest as he drew something on Sai's open scroll. His tongue poked out
as he moved the brush with serious concentration.
After a few minutes, he put his brush
down and grinned at Sai. “Done!”
Sai nodded and held up two fingers as
he touched the scroll. With a flash of light, the ink lifted up off
the page and changed from a flat image into a solid creature of some
sort.
“Bunny!” Naruto crooned in delight
and gently pet the creature that looked nothing like a bunny. “Now
you.”
Sai seemed to understand exactly what
Naruto wanted. He took the brush and drew on the scroll with quick
and precise strokes. In the next instant, a more realistic ink bunny
emerged from the scroll.
Overcome with delight, Naruto let go of
the bird and grabbed the bunny into a hug.
“They've been at it for a while.”
Harry started and clutched at his chest
as he stared at Sakura.
Sakura shot him an unapologetic look
and said, “Every one of Sai's drawings have been subjected to hugs
before they're let free in the ink forest.”
Harry smiled. “Look at the bunny
Naruto drew.”
Sakura snorted. “That's nothing
compared to the cat he drew. Look over there, by those thorny trees.”
Harry searched for the trees and paused
at the menacing five eyed ink creature. “What kind of cat is that?”
“The best kind apparently,” Sakura
said and bit into an apple. “Sai helped him create it. And now I
think they're having a competition.”
“Sai is winning,” Harry said.
“Is he really?” Sakura asked with a
pointed tone as Naruto babbled about a new animal he wanted drawn.
“He hasn't even mastered the art of saying no to Naruto.”
“To be fair, none of us have mastered
that. It's the eyes.”
Sakura snorted but didn't protest.
“How long do you think they'll keep
doing this?”
“Till Naruto falls asleep,” Sakura
said. “And that will take a while.”
