This is a continuation of my “Behind the Scenes”-verse and also a partial fill for a prompt that came in
a while back. In September to be exact, but I never had a chance to
work on it.
The prompt was “Can I request a
scenario where the "fairy-tale" that Harry was asked to
give circulates around Konoha and soon books, a fanbase, etc. start
to pop into existence. Harry is then given another movie role, but as
the creepy/snake/diary/evil man?”
To whoever sent this prompt in, I hope
you don't mind seeing it so late.
Fyi, the fairy-tale thing that the
prompt is referring to, is from a much older prompt that I filled out
ages ago.
“Nii-san,” Naruto sounded unsure
and almost hesitant as he entered the apartment. “I've got some
news.”
Harry sat up on the sofa and closed his
book with a bit of trepidation. “Has something happened?”
“Well, uh,” Naruto frowned and
cleared his throat. “Makino is in Konoha.”
The book slipped out of Harry's fingers
and thumped down onto the floor. “Why? He's supposed to be enjoying
his retirement far way from here.”
Naruto sighed. “He said he got
inspired and couldn't stay away because he had stories that needed to
be told or something.”
Harry stood and searched for his travel
backpack. “I'm in Suna. Have been for the past week. No, make it
somewhere in the desert, that's better than an actual location.”
“He already knows you're in Konoha,”
Naruto said, with a pained look. “It was the first thing he asked
when he reached Konoha.”
Harry swallowed down his pained groan.
“You don't think he's actually making a sequel?”
Naruto looked even more apologetic.
The main door slammed open and Makino
stepped inside. His sunglasses glinted as he scribbled away in a
book. “Harii, come, we have work to do.”
“You're making another movie?”
Harry asked with very real worry.
“Of course. Retirement is not meant
for me. While I drinking all that tea in that peaceful mansion, my
mind couldn't be at peace. The urge to create another masterpiece was
too strong to ignore.” Makino put a hand to his chest, as though
still overwhelmed by the urge to create. “I was all set to make a
sequel because we already have such a strong fanbase who'd be pleased
with a continuation.”
Harry grimaced in resignation.
“But that is much too easy,” Makino
said. “Why should I do something so...”
“Sensible?” Naruto muttered.
“Predictable!” Makino said with
disgust, as though the very thought was despicable. “The previous
movie was a hit because I experimented with something new. And that's
the route I need to go again.”
Harry blinked, a glimmer of hope
appearing to him. “So then...”
“Harii, I want you to be my newest
villain.”
“What?” Naruto yelled in outraged
disbelief.

Kisame sighed. “I thought you were
done interfering after you convinced the Director to come out
of retirement and make another movie.”
Itachi ignored him and swivelled his
newly purchased spyglass around with a frown.
“It's not right to spy on the
filming, you'll ruin the story for yourself.”
Itachi held the spyglass out to Kisame.
“I'd rather watch the entire movie
properly when it comes out.”
“Look,” Itachi insisted with a
menacing flash of red.
Kisame sighed as he took the spyglass
reluctantly. Having an Uchiha genjutsu on him would be worse than
spoiling a future movie. At leas that's what he told himself.
The actor that Itachi and he had met
more than a month ago, stood on the strange set filled with even
stranger props.
With an unnatural pale skin and a dark
smile on his lips, the actor wore elaborate silks and looked nothing
like the wild haired warrior from the previous movie as he walked
around a defiant looking actress. “Is this a romance plot?”
Kisame asked with confusion.
“It's not a sequel!” Itachi stated
with red eyes. “They're making a movie where he's not even a hero.”
Kisame dropped the spyglass and grabbed
onto Itachi's arm. “You cannot go there and change things.”
Itachi's narrowed eyed look practically
screamed 'watch me'.
Kisame sighed with downright relief as
an illusion of their leader appeared. “Itachi, Kisame, I have a job
for you two.”

I feel like maybe this verse should be called, "Kisame, the only sane fan" or something.
