AC_D19: Crossover Romance (Senju Edition)

It's been a while since I've done one of these. And I thought it's about time to give it another go- but maybe try to be a bit more serious about them. Here's the previous not-so-serious attempts at writing romance: Crossover Romance Drabbles, (Part 2)

I tried to stick with a theme of 'First meetings' for both these story bits. So already you can tell these are more of pre-romance than actual romance.

Maybe some day I will actually write a proper romance.

Warnings: Plotholes. And still not really romance. The only connection to AtO is that Harry is an Uzumaki.

Tobirama
"He doesn't look like an Uzumaki at all," Tobirama hissed to his brother. "What kind of Uzumaki has Uchiha features? We shouldn't have let them wander around on their own."

Hashirama shushed him with a quick glare laced with killing intent as Mito dragged her black haired companion forward. "I hope you two have been enjoying Konoha so far," Hashirama said.

The black haired man shrugged. "It's got potential. I think Mito will be happy here."

Tobirama tensed. Was there some hidden meaning in those words?

Mito huffed. "Don't act like a snob, Harii."

"You're one to talk. After all your commentary and zoning plans for the village... are you acting all demure for your future husband?" Harii said with a teasing smile that lit up his bright green eyes.

Mito gave him a long suffering look that made her aristocratic features look more human.

Hashirama grinned, apparently thrilled at their banter. "I'm glad to hear that. We're still building and planning. I'll be glad to hear any input to improve what we're set up so far."

Harii tilted his head. "If you need input, then you definitely need to talk to Nara-san. She has some interesting ideas."

"Nara-san," Tobirama said. "She's not one to talk much." He ignored Hashirama's look at his tone. Tobirama couldn't help it. The Nara clan head was secretive. She wouldn't have talked unless she'd been coerced by some nefarious means.

"Really?" Harii said, sounding exasperated. "I couldn't get her to stop talking so that I could leave."

Mito grinned. "She didn't talk a lot, Harii. And you would have stayed on the Nara property for much longer if you didn't have to play shogi."

"I'm here on vacation. Shogi is not a vacation activity."

"I thought you were here to chaperone me."

Harii scoffed. "As if you need to be watched. You're so scary that you destroy large ships with a single seal."

"It was one ship and you were the one who told me to destroy it," Mito said with narrowed eyes. "You even laughed at the explosion."

The earth beneath their feet shook.

Tobirama steadied himself with a quick application of chakra to his feet and looked for the source of the tremors.

"Large group of attackers to the south with animals of some sort," Harii said, looking unruffled as he held and equally calm Mito's arm.

Hashirama hummed in agreement, his eyes closed as he placed a palm on the ground. "It's the Amagiri clan."

"Another of the Uchiha's enemies," Tobirama said, feeling vindicated as he confirmed their words with his own sensing ability. "As usual, those Uchiha always bring trouble." He frowned at the other moved towards the chaos. "Where do you three think you're going?"

"To help. The Uchiha are our allies," Hashirama said.

"I'm supposed to be spending time with my betrothed," Mito said, sparing Hashirama a fond look as she pulled out a brush and numerous paper tags.

Harii shrugged. "I can't leave the two lovebirds alone. Who knows what they'll end up doing?"

Before he knew it, Tobirama was in the thick of battle. Even as he directed a tidal wave of water and swept away the poison spewing salamanders, Tobirama couldn't stop glancing at the two stationary Uzumaki who dominated their pristine portion of the battlefield.

Mito, clad in her expensive purple kimono, directed a constant stream of tags at her opponents who then exploded in a shower of gore. At her back, Harii seemed to gain control of any jutsu aimed at them and redirected them at his opponents with a careless ease.

As soon as the battle ended and Hashirama went off to oversee the technicalities of the aftermath, Tobirama headed to the two  Uzumaki. "Are you all right?"

"Of course," Mito said as she put away her brush and tags in the folds in her kimono sleeve.

Harii stared at him. "Want me to heal that scratch on your cheek?"

Tobirama touched his cheek, frowning when his fingers came away wet with fresh blood but nodded. With a slight hand gesture from Harii, warmth flooded Tobirama's body.

"There," Harii said. "I better go around and check if anyone needs help or healing."

"Wait," Tobirama stepped forward. "Allow me to escort you. It's dangerous to go around healing in such a situation."

"Dangerous?" Harii scoffed. "The Uchiha are out in force here."

"The Uchiha do not know you."

"I'll introduce myself," Harii said airily as he moved away.

Tobirama took two steps after him before pausing and turning to his brother's betrothed. "Mito-san, shall I accompany you back to the village?"

"I'd rather keep my cousin in sight." With a strange smile, Mito came to his side. "You'll need to hurry if you want to catch him."

"He's not walking very fast," Tobirama said in confusion.

Mito's smile widened in response.

I was going to put the Tsunade story bit along with this. But then I feel like this post would have become too long. So I'll put that one in a future post instead. I think the Senju deserve separate posts.

Actually, the Senju just deserve more posts in general.

It's strange how little I write about the Senju- especially since I like them so much more than the Uchiha.
